Self help group (saving and credit groups for rural women) leaders: Having a meeting:
I asked these women to tell me about the changes that self help groups have brought to their lives, and the savvy woman in the middle said 'Before, women were like cows in their homes, but now they are like lions'. Amazing!

After living in Jodhpur in the Thar desert of India during the two hottest months of the year, living with an Indian family and working for a grassroots NGO, I packed my bags and caught a train out in favour of two months on the road. The road took me past the Taj Mahal and up to the foot of the Himalayas. After a quick break in Sri Lanka to extend my visa, I flew back to India to travel the backwaters of Kerala with Jeppe and then stopped in the little town of Cuddalore for another internship.
